Tape Exchange July 2021

Bravest of Readers and Dearest Exchangers,

Happy August! Summer is winding down but certainly not finished with us! This month has been relatively lowkey. All is not quiet on our front but for the time being there is little to report. However, it is the music that truly does the talking around here, and when it comes to music, we are always well stocked!

RADDEST & BADDEST TAPE:

Every once and a while someone sends in a tape that has been kicking around for a long time. Believe it or not, the tape world can be quite serious, artsy, elitist, etc. Do you remember the early mixes you made, likely as a kid or young adult? You weren’t pandering with your picks, especially if it was pre-internet! It was an honest compilation and it’s refreshing to see tapes made before the goal in compilation was to impress strangers on the internet. If you don’t want to take my word for it that this mix has existed for a few decades, take a look at the track listing!

CTEP’s Contribution:

As we mentioned earlier, July was relatively lowkey for us at the CTEP. A vacation was had but the summer has started winding down, but not without some surprises! In this way our life as of late is much like this tape: mellow, then surprising, laid back but lethal!
